    مؤمّل بن يحيى أخوه. رحمه الله تعالى. أكثر الناس يقوله بفتح الميم الثانية. ووجدته بخط بعضهم: مكسورة مع التشديد في الوجهين. جلس مجلس أخيه بعد موته. وكانا معًا ممن يدرّس في جامع الفسطاط. سمع مؤمّل من حمديس ومحمد بن عمر، وأحمد بن محمد بن عبد العزيز، وأبي الطاهر محمد بن جعفر البرسيمي. سمع منه حمزة الحافظ، وسلمة بن سعيد الاسبحي، وأبو القاسم الجوهري، رحمهم الله تعالى.
