يحيى بن القصير طليطلي صاحب ابن حجاج هذا. ومشاركه في أسمعته. قال ابن حارث: وكان نظيره في فضله وعلمه، واجتهاده. وكان مواظبًا على الجهاد. ولما استشهد صاحبه، وسلم هو، كان يغمص نفسه ووبخها، الى أن خرج الناس للغزاة. سنة أربع وستين. فلما اجتمع الجمعان، أحكم أمره، وسلم متاعه، الى رفقائه، وودعهم. وتقدم للحرب طالبًا للشهادة. فرزقها، بعد أن أبلى في العدو بلاء ظاهرًا.
