أبو المطرف عبد الرحمان بن قاسم الشعبي المالقي (¬٣) فقيه بلده، وبقية مشيخته، وكبيرهم في الفتيا والرواية؛ سمع من المأموني السبتي في المرية، وتفقه عنده؛ وأبي علي الحسن بن عيسى المالقي، وأجازه القاضي يونس، والشنتجالي؛ وروي عنه شيخنا قاضي القضاة أبو عبد الله بن سليمان، وكانت له عند المرابطين وجاهة ومكانة؛ ولي قضاء بلده غير مرة، وجعل سجنه داره؛ ودعاه أمير المسلمين للمرابطين، فاستبدله بأبي مروان بن حسون، فقلده جملة القضاء؛ وكان أبو مروان (لا يقطع أمراً دونه، إلى) (¬٤) أن توفى الفقيه أبو المطرف في رجب سنة سبع وتسعين (¬٥)، وألف كتاباً في نوازل الأحكام مفيداً جيداً (¬٦).
