    أبو الوليد بن المارية [¬١] من فقهاء جزيرة [¬٢] ميورقة من هذه الطبقة المشهورين بها المقدمين [¬٣]؛ وله مع أبي محمد بن حزم الظاهري مناظرة في اتباع مالك، تعصب فيه عليه ابن حزم حتى حمل الوالي على سجنه واستهانته؛ وقد ذكر خبره معه [¬٤] القاضي أبو الوليد الباجي في كتاب الفرق.
