أخوه أبو القاسم جعفر (¬٥٢٦) بن مسرور الأبزاري ويعرف بابن المشاط، قال المالكي: كان يحسن الرد على الملحدين وكان يذهب مذهب "مالك ويجيده، ثم انتقل إلى مذهب" (¬٥٢٧) الشافعي، ثم إلى مذهب داود، ثم إلى قول ابن شريح (¬٥٢٨)، ثم إلى قول أبي بكر بن داود، ثم إلى قول ابن المغلس، وعليه مات. وكان بعضهم يقول: ابن المشاط يطلب مذهبه ولم يجده. تأخرت وفاته إلى سنة تسع وأربعين وثلاثمائة. * * *
