حسين بن مفرج مولى مهرية (¬٤٦٥) بنت الأغلب، أبو القاسم. كان ذا عناية بالعلم وبصر بالوثائق. سمع من أصحاب سحنون، وغلب عليه الحديث، وكان عالما به وبرجاله. وله كتاب حسن في تاريخ المولد والوفاة. قتله الشيعي وصلبه.ذكره ابن أبي دليم. وذكر ابن حارث، أنه ممن امتحن من المدنيين على يد ابن عبدون القاضي، فضم هو وأبو عبد الله السدرى سنة ثمان وثلاثمائة (¬٤٦٦) إلى المهدية، فضربا، ثم قتلا، ثم صلبا، لكلام حفظ عنهما (¬٤٦٧) في الشيعي. * * *
