محمد بن سلمة بن حنين بن قاسم الصدفي أبو عبد الله، تطيلى، كان حافظا للمسائل، أحد الأبدال، بعيد الصوت في الخبر جدا. سمع، ورحل، وشارك ابن وضاح في كثير من رجاله بالقيروان، ثم سمع منه بقرطبة، واستقضى ببلده، وكان يخاطب الأمراء، فلا يسود أحدا منهم، حدث عنه محمد بن نصر.
