وابنه عبد الله بن محمد بن قاسم أبو محمد له رحلة، لقى فيها المزنى، ولقى داود القياسي بالعراق، وكتب كتبه، وأدخلها إلى الأندلس، فأخلت به عند فقهاء وقته. ونظر في رأى مالك نظرا حسنا، ولكنه كان يميل إلى علم داود، كلفا بالحجة، حدث عنه ابن أيمن، وقاسم بن أصبغ، ومحمد بن قاسم وغيرهم. قال الصدفى: له تقدم وفضل ودين وانقباض وتواضع. توفى سنة اثنين وتسعين.
