أبو المعمور محمد بن محمد بن حمزة الربعي من أصحاب سحنون وابنه محمد، وسمع غيرهم. سمع منه عمر بن يوسف، وبكر بن حماد، وكان يقول الشعر في الزهد ويحسنه. أنشد أبو العباس بن أبى العرب له: الموت لابد آت فاستعد له … إن اللبيب بذكر الموت مشغول وكيف يلهو بعيش أو يلذ به … من التراب على عينيه مجعول توفى سنة خمس وستين ومائتين. ومولده سنة ثمان ومائتين.
