وله وكان الغزى يدعيهما ايضا كأن السحاب الجون لما تجمعت … وقد فرقت عنا الهموم بجمعهانياق ووجه الارض قعب ثلجها … حليب ومرّ الريح حالب ضرعها قال الصفدى كانت له بديهة مطاوعة وفكرة مسرعة لذيذ المفاكهة حسن العشرة وتنسك فى آخر عمره وحسن حاله ومات له ولده سليمان فتألم كثيرا وحج وذلك فى سنة ٧٤٧ وبقى الى ان مات فى الطاعون فى ربيع الآخر سنة ٧٥٠ وقد كتب عنه من شعره القاضى عزّ الدين ابن جماعة *
