٢٤٥٧ - س: سُلَيمان بن أيُّوب بن سُلَيمان بن داود بن عبد الله بن حَذْلَم أبو أيُّوب الأسَدِيّ الدمشقيّ. عن سُلَيمَان بن عبد الرَّحمن، وصَفْوَان بن صالح المُؤذِّن، وإسماعيل بن إبراهيم التَّرْجُمَانِيّ، ودُحَيم وجماعة كثيرة. وعنه "س" حديثًا واحدًا، وابنه أحمد بن سليمان، وأبو القاسم الطَّبَرَانِيّ وجماعة. توفي سنة (٢٨٩ هـ). تَنْبِيه: من اسمه سليمان بن أيُّوب جماعة، ليس لهم في الكُتُب السِّتَّة شيء، منهم من هو في ثقات ابن حِبَّان اثنان، ومنهم في الميزانواحد، وهو في الجرح والتعديل لابن أبي حاتم، تركتُهم اختصارًا لئلا يطول الكتاب.
