٨٣٧ - ق: ثابت بن السِّمْط - بكسر الميم وفتح السِّين المُهملة، كذا قيَّدهالجيَّانيّ، قال في المطالع (¬١)، وقيَّدناه عن بعض شيوخنا: بكسر السين وإسكان الميم انتهى، وهذا الضبط ضبطه في شرحبيل بن السِّمْط أخيه، ولا فرق. عن عُبادة بن الصّامت. وعنه ابن مُحَيْريز. ذكره ابن حِبّان في ثقاته، فقال: ثابت بن السِّمط بن الأسود بن جبلة بن عديّ بن ربيعة أخو شرحبيل بن السِّمط، عداده في أهل الشام، يروي عن جماعة من الصحابة، روى عنه أهل الشام انتهى.
