    ٤٥١ - م دس ق: إسماعيل بن أبي حكيم - بفتح الحاء وكسر الكاف - القرشي مولاهم، هو مولى عثمان ابن عفان، وقيل: مولى آل الزُّبير المدنيّ. عن ابن المسيب، وسعيد بن مَرْجَانة، وعَبِيْدَه - بفتح العين وكسر المُوحَّدة - بن سُفيان وعروة. وعنه زهير بن محمد التميمي، وابن إسحاق ومالك وعدة. وثَّقه ابن معين وغيره، وقال أبو حاتم: يُكتب حديثه. وذكره ابن حِبَّان في الثقات، وقال: مات سنة (١٣٠) بالمدينة، وكان كاتبًا لعمر بن عبد العزيز.
