[٦٧٤٩/ ٥٧٧٥] (م) المثنى بن معاذ العنبرى، أخو عُبيد الله، والد الحسن، ومعاذ. عن: أبيه، ومعتمر بن سليمان، وغندر، ويحيى القطان وطبقتهم، ولم يرحل. وعنه: ابناه وأبو خيثمة، ومحمد بن موسى الواسطى، وعباس الدوري، وأبو زرعة، وعثمان الدارمي، وأحمد بن على الآبار، وآخرون. وثقه ابن معين. روي مسلم حديثًا عن رجل عنه وذكره ابن حبان في "ثقاته" قال ابنه معاذ: مات سنة (٢٢٨) وله ستون سنة.
