[٦٦٢٩/ ٥٦٦٨] (ق) محمد بن الهثيم بن حماد الثقفي، مولاهم، أبو عبد الله بن أبي القاسم البغدادي القنطرى، ويُعرف بأبي الأحوص قاضي عكبرا. عن: أبي نُعيم، وسعيد بن أبى مريم، والقعنبي ومرة بن حبيب، وأبي جعفر النفيلي، وعمرو ابن مرزوق، وطبقتهم بالحجاز، والشام، والعراق، ومصر، والجزيرة فأكثر وأجاد. وعنه: (ق) حديثًا واحدًا فى الاستسقاء، وموسى بن هارون، وابن صاعد، وابن مخلد، وإسماعيل الصفار، وأبو بكر النجاد، وأبو بكر الشافعي، وخلق. قال الدارقطني: كان من "الثقات" الحفاظ. وذكره ابن حبان في "الثقات". قال ابن السماك: مات فى آخر جمادى الأولى سنة (٢٧٩).
