[٥٨٧٧/ ٥١٠٣] (٥) محمد بن ثابت بن قيس بن شماس الخزرجى المدنى. حنكه النبي ﷺ بريقه، وسماه محمدًا. روى عن: النبي ﷺ مرسلًا. وعن: أبيه، وسالم مولى أبي حذيفة. وعنه: ابناه: يوسف وإسماعيل، والزهرى، ويعقوب بن عُمر بن قتادة وهو أخو عبد الله بن حنظلة بن الغسيل. أمهما جميلة بنت عبد الله بن أبي بن سلول. ذكره ابن حبان في "الثقات" في الصحابة فذكر أنه ﵇ حنكه بتمرة وسماه محمدًا، ثم ذكره في التابعين. قتل يوم الحرة هو وأخواه عبد الله ويحيى وقد تقدم مرات أن الحرة سنة (٦٣).
