    [٥٧٦٥/ ٤٩٩٧] (م د ت س) كَنَّاز - بفتح الكاف وتشديد النون وفي آخره زاي - ابن الحُصين - بضم الحاء وفتح الصاد المهملتين ويقال: ابن حصين بن يريوع، أبو مرثد - بفتح الميم، ثم راء ساكنة، ثم ثاء مثلثة مفتوحة، ثم دال مهملة - الغنوى والد مرثد وجد أنيس بن مرثد. شهد بدرًا هو وابنه مرثد وكان كناز حليف حمزة بن عبد المطلب. له عند (م) (د) (ت) (س) حديث واحد، قاله ابن جابر، عن بُسر - بضم الموحدة، وبالسين المهملة - ابن عُبيد الله. عن: واثلة بن الأسقع عنه عن النبي ﷺ: "لا تصلوا في القبور ولا تجلسوا إليها". قال الواقدى: توفى سنة (١٢). زاد غيره: بالشام واستشهد ابنه مرثد يوم الرجيع في زمن النبي ﷺ.
