[٥٦٧٤/ ٤٨٩٤]- (د) قيس بن الحارث ويقال بالعكس الحارث بن قيس جد قيس بن الربيع الأسدى له صحبة، أسلم وله ثمان نسوة. روى عن: حميضة بن الشمردل، وعند ابن ماجه بنت الشمردل. قال ابن عبد البر: قيس بن الحارث الأسدى قال: أسلمت وعندى ثمانى نسوة. . فذكر الحديث. روي حديثه ابن أبي ليلى والكلبي جميعًا عن حميضة بن الشمردل عنه. قال ابن أبي خيثمة: الشمردل -بالدال- هو الرجل طويل انتهى.والشمردل -بدال مهملة-، قال الجوهري: السريع من الإبل وغيرها، وقال الكلابي: الشمردلة -بالتاء- الحسنة الجميلة الخُلُق حكاه عنه أبو عبيد انتهى.
