[٤٨٣٠/ ٤١٣٢] (س) على بن محمد بن على بن أبي المَضَاء المصيصى وأخيهما وابن عم أحمد بن عبد الله بن على. عن: إسحاق بن الطباع، والحسن بن الربيع البوراني، وأحمد بن حنبل وأبى اليمان وخلف بن تميم، والهيثم بن جميل، وطائفة. وعنه: (س)، ومطين، وسعيد بن عمرو البرذعى، ومكحول البيروتي، وآخرون وثقه (س)، وذكره ابن حبان في "الثقات". * تنبيه: من يقال له [على بن محمد] جماعة كثيرة غير من ذكرت ممن ليس له رواية في شيء من الكتب الستة لم أذكرهم طلباً للاختصار وهم مذكورون، منهم من هو في كتاب ابن أبي حاتم، وبعضهم فى "ثقات" ابن حبان، وبعضهم في "الميزان".
