    [٤٧٥٠/ ٤٠٧١] (س) علي بن أبي سارة، ويقال علي بن محمد بن أبي سارة الشيباني - بالشين المعجمة - ويقال الأزدي البصري. عن: مكحول، وثابت، ومحمد بن واسع، وغيرهم. وعنه: إسحاق بن أبي إسرائيل، وعبد الله بن عبد الوهاب الحجبي، ومحمد بن أبي بكر المقدمي، وعمرو بن الحُصين - بضم الحاء وفتح الصاد المهملتين -، وجماعة. ضعفه أبو حاتم. وقال (خ): في حديثه نظر. وقال أبو داود: تركوا حديثه. ذكره في "الميزان" فذكر فيه كلام أبي داود، وكلام (خ)، وكلام أبي حاتم، قال: ومما أنكر عليه حديثه عن ثابت عن أنس مرفوعًا "من حمل أحد قوائم السرير حط الله عنه أربعين كبيرة" ثم ذكر له حديثين وكأنه استنكرهما عليه.
