[٤٤٣٠/ ٣٧٦٤] (س) عتاب بن حُنين، ويقال: ابن أبي حنين المكي. عن: أبي سعيد. وعنه: عَمرو بن دينار حديث: يقولون "مطرنا بنوء المجدح". المجدح - بكسر الميم ثم جيم ساكنة، ثم دال مفتوحة مهملة أيضًا كمنبر وهو: الأبرانُ أبو نجم صغير عنه، والثريا وتضم الميم قاله في "القاموس"، والضم في "الصحاح" أيضًا. وقال ابن الأثير: المجدح: نجم من النجوم قبل: هو الدَّبَران، وقيل: ثلاثة كواكب كالأَثَافِي تشبيهًا بالمجدح الذي لهثلاث شعب وهو عند العرب من الأنوا (*) انتهى. ذكر عتابًا ابن حبان في "ثقاته"، وذكر أنه يقال ابن أبي حنين.
