[٣٥٦٩/ ٣٥٦٦] (خت م د ت س) عبد الله مسلم بن عُبيد الله بن عبد الله بن شهاب الزهرى المدنى أبو محمد أخو الزهرى، الإمام العلم، وكان الأكبر. روى عن: ابن عمر، وأنس، وعبد الله بن ثعلبة بن صُغير - صُعير - بضم الصاد وفتح العين المهملتين -، وحمزة بن عبد الله بن عُمر، وأخيه، وغيرهم. وعنه: أخوه، والنعمان بن راشد، وبكير بن عبد الله بن الأشج، ومعمر - بإسكان العين وفتح الميمين. - وثقه ابن معين وغيره. مات قبل أخيه، وذكره ابن حبان في "الثقات"، وقال أنهما من بنى الديل بن كنانة مات قبل أخيه، وأخوه مات سنة (١٢٤) في شهر رمضان.
