[٣٤١٤/ ٣٤٣٧] (د ت) عبد الله بن علي بن أيوب الأفريقي الكوفي الأزرق. عن: أبي إسحاق، والزهرى، وعاصم بن بهدلة القارئ، وصفوان بن سُليم - بضم السين وفتح اللام، وصالح مولى التوأمة وجماعة. وعنه: موسى بن عقبة وهو أكبر منه، ويحيى بن زكريا بن أبي زائدة، ومروان بن معاوية، وآخرون. لينه أبو زرعة، وذكره ابن حبان في "الثقات" وقال أصله من أفريقية، ومنشؤه بالكوفة. وذكره في "الميزان" وذكر فيه قول أبي زرعة فقط ولفظه قال أبو زرعة: ليس بالمتين في حديثه إنكار.
