[٢٠٣٢/ ٢٠٥٤] (ق) زياد بن عبد الله بن عُلاثة - بضم العين المهملة وتخفيف اللام، وبعد الألف ثاء مثلثة مفتوحة، ثم تاء التأنيث - العُقيلى - بضم العين وفتح القاف - أبو سهل الحراني، وكان خليفة أخيه محمد بن عبد الله على القضاء. روى عن: عبد الكريم بن مالك الجزري، وموسى بن إبراهيم التيمي، وغيرهما. وعنه: أخوه، وأبو النضر هاشم بن القاسم، وأبو كامل مظفر بن مدرك، وغيرهم. وثقه ابن معين. له في الكتاب حديث في الدعاء على الجراد "اللهم اقتل كباره وأفسد بيضه". الحديث (¬٢).
