    [١٨٨١/ ١٨٩٧] دق) رجاء بن مُرجَّي الغفاري المروزي، ويقال: السمرقندي الحافظ أحد أركان الحديث أبو محمد، وقال أبو أحمد: رحال جوال مصنف. روى عن: النضر بن شُميل، وأبي نعيم، وقبيصة، وأبي اليمان، وخلق. وعنه: (د، ق)، وأبو حاتم، وابن أبي الدنيا، وابن صاعد، وعمر البُجيري، والمحاملي، وآخرون. نزل، بغداد، قال ابن حبان: كان متيقظًا ممن جمع وصنف. رأيته في "الثقات" ولم أر هذا الكلام فيه. وأرخ وفاته كما سأذكرها عن السراج، وقال الخطيب: ثقة ثبت إمام في علم الحديث، وحفظه والمعرفة به. وقال أبو العباس السراج: مات في غرة جمادي الأولى سنة (٢٤٩) (¬٢).
