[١٥٤٤/ ١٥٧١] (د س ق) حوشب بن عَقِيل -بفتح العين، وكسر القاف- الجرمى، وقيل: العبدى البصرى، أبو دَحية - بفتح الدال، وكسرها. عن: أبيه، ومهدى الهجرى، والحسن، وبكر بن عبد الله، وقتادة. وعنه: ابن مهدى، وأبو داود الطيالسى، وسليمان بن حرب، وجماعة. وثقه أحمد، والنسائي، له حديث عن مهدى المذكور، ذكره ابن حبان في "الثقات" مرتين. وذكره في "الميزان"، وذكر توثيق أحمد، و (س) له، ثم قال: وضعفه الأزدى، والله أعلم.
