[١٥٢٩/ ١٥٥١] (م د س) حُمَيل -بضم الحاء المهملة، وفتح الميم، مصغر، وقيل: حَمِيل بفتح الحاء المهملة وكسر الميم، وقيل بالجيم المفتوحة وكسر الميم- وصح الأول، وقيل فى أبيه بصرة، أن بَصرة -بالموحدة المفتوحة، وإسكان الصاد المهملة- ابن وقاص، أبو بصرة -كاسم أبيه- الغفارى له صحبة ورواية. وروى أيضًا عن: أبى ذر. وعنه أبو تميم الجيشانى، وعبد الرحمن بن ثمامة المهرى وأبو الخير مرثد اليزنى، وجماعة. قال ابن يونس: شهد فتح مصر واختط بها وبها توفى.
