[١١٥/ ١٠٥] (تمييز) أحمد بن محمد بن عون، أبو الحسن المكي القَوّاس النَّبال المقرئ، قرأ القرآن على وهب بن واضح وعليه قرأ قنبل. وحدث عن: مسلم بن خالد الزنجى، وعبد المجيد بن عبد العزيز بن أبي رواد. روى عنه: بقيّ بن مخلد، ومطين، وأبو جعفر محمد بن أحمد الترمذي. توفى نحوًا من سنة (٢٣٠) ذُكر للتمييز، ولأن بعضهم خلط ترجمته بترجمة الأزرقي انتهى، ذكره ابن عون ابن حبان في "ثقاته"، وقال: ربما خالف.
