[١٠٩/ ٩٩] (س) أحمد بن محمد بن المغيرة بن سنان، وقيل ابن سيار، أبو حميد العَوْهى - بفتح العين المهملة وإسكان الواو - نسبة إلى بطن، الأزدي الحمصي. عن: أبي المغيرة عبد القدوس، ويحيى الوُحَاظى، ويحيى بن سعيد العطار - بالعين والراء -، وعثمان بن سعيد بن كثير الحمصيين. وعنه: (س) وابن جرير، وأبو عوانة، وابن جوصا، وعبد الرحمن بن أبي حاتم وطائفة. وثقه (س)، وابن أبي حاتم، لم يذكر في "التهذيب" ولا "التذهيب" ولا "الكاشف له وفاة. قال شيخنا العراقي: قال ابن قانع في "الوفيات": توفى سنة (٢٦٤) بحمص. انتهى.
