٣٢١ - عمر بن سعد بن عمار بن علي الموصلي، يكنى أبا حفص، ويعرف بابن الربيب، الأديب المؤرخ النسابة (¬١). سمع ببلده من خطيبها أبي طاهر أحمد بن عبد الله الطوسي، وغيره، وبدمشق من جماعة من المتأخرين، وأجاز له أبو الفرج ابن الجوزي الحافظ، وابن كليب، وجماعة من مشايخ العراق. وله تصانيف، ومجاميع مفيدة، وله تاريخ ذكرت جملةً منه في هذا المجموع. ولد بالموصل، في سادس جمادى الآخرة، سنة سبع وثمانين وخمس مئة. وتوفي بالقاهرة، ليلة الثاني عشر من ذي قعدة، سنة ثمان وأربعين وست مئة. وقد نقل ابن سعيد في "تاريخه الكبير" عنه جملة فوائد وآداب.
