[٤٨٤] سليمان بن المعافى بن سليمان أبو أيوب الرسعني. حدث عن: أبيه. وعنه: أبو القاسم الطبراني في " المعجمين ". قال ابن عدي: سمعت مشايخ بلده " رأس العين " و " حران " يقولون: هو الذي حمل سليمان بن المعافى بن سليمان – كان قاضي رأس العين –على أن روى عن أبيه شيئًا، قال الذهبي: فعلى هذا تكون روايته عن أبيه جادة. مات سنة ثلاث وتسعين ومائتين. - الكامل (٦/ ٢٣٠١)، مختصره (٧٠٣)، الميزان (٢/ ٢٢٣)، تاريخ الإسلام (٢٢/ ١٥٦)، المغني (١/ ٤٠٧)، الديوان (١٧٨٢)، اللسان (٣/ ١٢١). • قلت: (غمزه ابن عدي، ومع ذلك فيستشهد به).
