١٤٢٩ - محمّد بن علي بن محمّد، أبو عبد الله الدّامغانيّ (¬١): سكن بغداد ودرس بها فقه أبي حنيفة على أبي الحسين القدوري، وعلى القاضي أبي عبد الله الصّيمريّ وبرع في العلم ودرس وأفتى، وقبل قاضي القضاة أبو عبد الله ابن ماكولا شهادته، ثم ولى قضاء القضاة بعد موت ابن ماكولا، وذلك في ذي القعدة من سنة سبع وأربعين وأربعمائة [وكان عفيفا] (¬٢) وانتهت إليه الرئاسة في مذهب العراقيين، وكان وافر العقل، كامل الفضل، مكرما لأهل العلم، عارفا بمقادير الناس، سديد الرأي؛ وجرت أموره في حكمه على السداد، وكان مولده في سنة ثمان وتسعين وثلاثمائة بدامغان.
