١٣٧٠ - محمّد بن علي بن إسماعيل بن الفضل، أبو عبد الله الأيلي (¬٣) الحافظ: سكن بغداد وحدّث بها عن عبد الله بن روح المدائنيّ، ويحيى بن نافع بن خالد، ويحيى بن عثمان بن صالح، ويحيى بن أيّوب العلّاف، وأزهر بن زفر الحضرمي المصريين، وبكر بن سهل الدمياطي، وأحمد بن إبراهيم البسرى. روى عنه ابن عمر ابن حيويه، وأبو الحسن الدّارقطنيّ، وأبو بكر بن شاذان، وأبو حفص بن شاهين، وأبو حفص الكتّانيّ، وكان ثقة. أخبرنا السّمسار، أخبرنا الصّفّار، حدّثنا ابن قانع: أن عبد الله الأيلي مات في شوال من سنة تسع وعشرين وثلاثمائة. قال غيره: مات لثمان بقين من الشهر.
