١٣٤٢ - محمّد بن علي بن خلف، أخو داود بن علي الأصبهاني الفقيه (¬١): سكن بغداد وحدّث بها عن أبي معمر الهذلي. روى عنه عمر بن الحسن بن الأشناني. أخبرني الحسن، أنبأنا محمّد الخلّال، حدّثنا أحمد بن إبراهيم بن شاذان، حدّثنا القاضي أبو الحسين عمر بن الحسن الأشناني الكوفيّ، أخبرني محمّد بن علي بن خلف- أخو داود بن علي الأصبهاني- ومحمّد بن بشر بن مطر وعبد الله بن أحمد ابن حنبل. قالوا: حدّثنا أبو معمر إسماعيل بن إبراهيم الهذلي قال: قال أبو بكر بن عياش: زعموا أن أبا حنيفة ضربوه على القضاء، كذبوا إنما أرادوه أن يكون عريفا على الحاكة.
