١٢٩٦ - (¬١) محمّد بن عثمان بن مسبّح، أبو بكر الشّيبانيّ (¬٢)، نحوي يعرف بالجعد: كان من علماء الناس وأفاضلهم، وصنف كتابا في ناسخ القرآن ومنسوخه، حدّث به أبو بكر أحمد بن جعفر بن سلم عنه وهو من أحسن الكتب وأجودها. وسألت أبا طاهر محمّد بن علي بن محمّد الواعظ عن محمّد بن عثمان الجعد فقال: هو بغدادي وله كتاب صنفه في غريب القرآن. وكان لما فرغ من عمله أخذ نفسه بحفظه، فلم يمكث إلّا يسيرا حتى توفي ولم يخرج الكتاب عنه. وذكر غيره: أن الجعد صنف كتبا عدة منها «كتاب القراءات»، و «كتاب الهجاء»، و «المقصور والممدود»، و «المذكر والمؤنث»، و «العروض»، و «خلق الإنسان»، و «الفرق»، و «مختصر النحو».
