المهندس شهاب الدين الطولوني ...... - ٨٠١هـ -...... - ١٣٩٨م أحمد بن الطولوني، المهندس المعلم شهاب الدين المصري. كان معلم السلطان ومهندسه، وشاد عمائره، ثم تزوج الملك الظاهر برقوق بأخته أو بنته، فنال بمصاهرة السلطان السعادة، وأثرى وصار من ذوي الرئاسة،وتوجه إلى عمائر مكة غير مرة آخرها في سنة إحدى وثمانمائة، ثم عاد نحو القاهرة بعد فراغ شغله فأدركته المنية بعسفان، فمات في يوم الجمعة عاشر صفر من السنة المذكورة، فحمل ودفن بالمعلاه من مكة، رحمه الله تعالى.
