ابن الزين والي القاهرة .... - ٨٠٣هـ -.... - ١٤٠٠م أحمد بن عمر، الأمير شهاب " الدين الشهير " بابن " الزين " والي القاهرة. كان من الظلمة، وباشر عدة وظائف، ثم ولي القاهرة، كل ذَلِكَ في دولة الملك الظاهر برقوق، ولما ولي القاهرة شدد عَلَى الناس، وأجرى عَلَىأرباب الجرائم أنواع العذاب، ومنع النساء من المتنزهات والتوجه إلى الترب لزيارة القبور، وصار من ظفر بها منهن يضربها ضرباً مبرحاً، وله أشياء من هذا النمط في العسف، ولا حاجة في التطويل في " ترجمة " مثل هذا الرجل، توفي في ثاني عشر شهر ربيع الأول سنة ثلاث وثمانمائة.
