مرثد بن ظبيان البكري نزل البصرة. ٢٢٣٢ - أخبرنا عبد الله قال: حدثني جدي قال: حدثنا حسين بن محمد قال: حدثنا شيبان عن قتادة قال حدث مرثد بن ظبيان قال جاءنا كتاب من رسول الله ﷺ فما وجدنا كاتبا يقرؤه علينا حتى قرأه علينا رجل من بني ضبيعة من محمد رسول الله ﷺ إلى بكر بن وائل أسلموا تسلموا. بلغني عن خليفة بن خياط عن محمد بن سواء عن قرة عن قتادة عن مضارب العجلي أن رسول الله ﷺ وهب سبي بكر بن وائل لمرثد ابن ظبيان.
