قيس أبو غنيم سكن البصرة وأدرك النبي ﷺ. أخبرنا عبد الله قال نا علي بن مسلم قال نا وهب بن جرير عن شعبة عن عاصم عن غنيم بن قيس قال: إني لأحفظ كلمات قالهن أبي على النبي ﷺ: ألا لي الويل على محمد قد كنت في جياته بمقعد أنام ليلي آمنا إلى الغد أخبرنا عبد الله قال نا علي بن الجعد قال اخبرنا شعبة عن سعيد الجريري قال: سمعت غنيم بن قيس قال: كنا نتواعظ في أول الإسلام:ابن آدم اعمل في فراغك قبل شغلك وفي شبابك لكبرك وفي صحتك لمرضك وفي دنياك آخرتك وفي حياتك لموتك.
