محمد بن عبد السلام كان يسكن المدينة. ١٩٦١ - حدثنا محمد بن يزيد أبو هشام [الرفاعي] نا يحيى بن آدم: نا مالك بن [مغول عن سيار أبي] الحكم عن شهر بن حوشب عن محمد بن عبد الله بن عبد السلام قال يحيى: ولا أعلمه إلا عن أبيه قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: " يا أهل قباء ما هذا الثناء الذي أثنى الله عليكم؟ " قالوا: يا رسول الله نجد في التوراة مكتوبا علينا الاستنجاء بالماء.قال أبو هشام: ثم كتبته عن يحيى من أصل كتابه ليس [فيه عن أبيه] وحدث به الفريابي عن مالك بن مغول عن سيار عن شهر بن حوشب عن محمد بن عبد السلام عن النبي ﷺ لم يذكر أباه.
