عبد الله بن مطيع بن الأسود ولد على عهد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وروى عن أبيه عن النبي ﷺ. وذكر محمد بن إسحاق: أن مطيع بن الأسود أحد بني عدي بن كعب بن مرة. ١٥٦١ - حدثني سويد بن سعيد نا علي بن مسهر عن داود بن أبي هند عن محمد بن أبي موسى قال: كنت واقفا مع عبد الله بن مطيع بن الأسود بعرفات فقرأ هذه الآية ﴿ولو نزلناه على [بعض الأعجمين فقرأه عليهم]﴾ قال: لو أنزل على جملي هذا يعني كل دابة عجما فقرىء عليهم: ما كنا [نواب]. ١٥٦٢ - حدثنا أبو عبد الله المخزومي نا سفيان عن زكرياء عن الشعبي قال: أخبرني عبد الله بن مطيع عن أبيه قال: سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول يوم فتح مكة: " لا يقتل قرشي حدا بعد هذا اليوم.
