    خالد بن أبي جبل الثقفي كان يسكن الطائف. ٥٩٦ - حدثني عمي نا إسحاق بن إسماعيل ح وحدثني محمد بن إسحاق ومحمد بن علي قالا: نا يحيى بن معين قالا نا مروان بن معاوية نا عبد الله بن عبد الرحمن الطائفي عن عبد الرحمن بن خالد بن أبي جبل عن أبيه: أنه أبصر النبي ﷺ وهو قائم على فرس في مشرق ثقيف وهو يقرأ ﴿والسماء والطارق﴾ حتى ختمها. قال: فوعيتها في الجاهلية وأنا مشرك ثم قرأتها في الإسلام. قال: [فدعتني ثقيف] قالت: ما سمعت من هذا الرجل؟ قال: فقرأتها عليهم فقال من معهم من قريش: نحن أعلم بصاحبنا لو كنا نعلم أحق ما يقوله لاتبعناه.قال أبو القاسم: ولم يرو خالد بن أبي جبل عن النبي ﷺ غير هذا الحديث.
