يعقوب بن علي بن أحمد بن سعيد بن حزم: من أهل قرطبة؛ يكنى: أبا أسامة. وهو ولد الحافظ أبي محمد بن حزم. روى عن أبيه، وعن أبي عمر بن عبد البر إجازة، وعن أبي العباس العذري. وحج وأدى الفريضة. وكان من أهل النباهة والاستقامة من بيته علم وجلالة. ذاكرني به أبو جعفر الفقيه وقال لي: توفي في جمادى الأولى سنة ثلاث وخمس مائة. ومولده سنة أربعين وأربع مائة.ومن تفاريق الأسماء
