يحيى بن محمد بن فرج بن فتح؛ يعرف: بابن الحاج، من أهل مجريط؛ يكنى: أبا العباس. روى عن أبي يعقوب بن عبد الرحمن بن حماد وغيره. وكان من أهل المعرفة بالأدب والعربية، وكان يعلمها وقد أخذ عنه أصحابنا. وكان أحد العدول وتوفي ﵀ ودفن يوم الاثنين لأربع بقين من ربيع الأول سنة خمس عشرة وخمس مائة بقرطبة، ودفن بمقبرة أم سلمة، حضرت جنازته.
