محمد بن نعمة الأسدي العابر القيرواني؛ يكنى: أبا بكر. روى بالقيروان عن أبي عمران الفاسي. ومروان بن علي البوني، وعلي بن أبي طالب العابر، وأكثر عنه، وعبد الحق الصقلي وغيرهم. وكان معتنيا بالعلم عالما بالعبارة وجمع فيها كتبا واستوطن المرية. وسمع الناس منه وأخذ عنه جماعةٌ من شيوخنا، وحدثونا عنه. وسمعت بعضهم يضعفه. وتوفي بالمرية سنة إحدى، أو اثنتين وثمانين وأربع مائة. وصلى عليه أبو عبد الله بن الفراء بوصيته بذلك إليه.
