محمد بن عيسى بن زوبع؛ يكنى: أبا بكر. قال ابن حيان: زوبعة سبتي وأصله من البصرة. وكان من أصحاب بن ذكوان، وله في العلم والصرامة قدم صدق أدته إلى المنية. ولاه المظفر قضاء بلده وعمله، فحمدت ولايته، واتصلت إلى أن سما ابن حمود إلى الخلافة علي بني مروان فقتله في التهمةفيهم سنة إحدى أو اثنتين وأربع مائة. وكانت له رحلة إلى المشرق ومعرفة بالحديث والفقه أفادنيه أيضا عياض وخطه لي بيده.
