محمد بن محمد بن عبد الرحمن بن أحمد بن عبد الرحمن بن حكم بن سليمان ابن الناصر عبد الرحمن بن محمد؛ يكنى: أبا عبد الله، ويعرف: بالأحمر. سمع: من أبي عبد الله محمد بن فرج، وأبي مروان بن سراج، وجماعة سواهم. وكان حافظا للفقه على مذهب مالك وأصحابه، مقدما فيه، متفننا في المعارف، والعلوم وقد نوظر عليه وتوفي ﵀ بمدينة قبرة وقد كف بصره في سنة اثنتين وأربعين وخمس مائة.
