محمد بن بن خلف بن إبراهيم بن خلف بن سعيد: من أهل قرطبة؛ يعرف بابن المقرئ؛ ويكنى: أبا بكر. روى عن أبي علي الغساني، وأبي عبد الله محمد بن فرج، وأبي الحسن العبسي. وأخذ عن أبيه كثيرا من القراءات، وأجاز به أبو مروان ابن سراج ما رواه. وتفقه عند القاضي أبي عبد الله بن الحاج وغيره. وكان من أهل المعرفة والفهم، والنبل، والذكاء، واليقظة، وتولى خطة الأحكام بقرطبة فحمدت سيرته بها. وتوفي وهو يتولاها صبيحة يوم الأحد، ودفن عشي يوم الاثنين الثالث عشر من ربيع الآخر من سنة ثلاث وثلاثين وخمس مائة. ودفن بالربض واتبعه الناس ثناء حسنا. وكان أهلا لذلك ﵀ ومولده سنة ستٍّ وسبعين وأربع مائة.
