محمد بن نجاح الأموي: من أهل قرطبة؛ يكنى: أبا عبد الله. روى عن أبي جعفر بن رزق وناظر عنده، وعن أبي الحسن بن حمدين، وأبي محمد ابن شعيب المقرئ، وأبي عبد الله بن محمد بن فرج، وأبي علي الغساني وذكر لي أنه سمع على أبي القاسم حاتم بن محمد كتاب الملخص للقابسي، ولم أجد له سماعا في كتابه. وذكر أن أبا العباس العذري أجاز له، وذكر جماعة سوى هؤلاء ورأيت تسمية ما رواه بخطه فرأيت تخليطا كثيرا يستراب منه. وكان حافظا للرأي، ذاكرا للمسائل. وتوفي ﵀ يوم الأربعاء ودفن عشي الخميس الخامس من جمادى الآخرة من سنة اثنتين وثلاثين وخمسمائة ودفن بالربض.
