محمد بن خلف بن سليمان بن فتحون: من أهل أوريولة عمل مرسية؛ يكنى: أبا بكر. روى عن أبيه، وعن الحسن طاهر بن مفوز، وأبي علي حسين بن محمد الصدفي وأكثر عنه وعن جماعة سواهم. وكان معتنيا بالحديث، منسوبا إلى فهمه عارفا بأسماء رجاله ونقلته، وله استلحانٌ على أبي عمر بن عبد البر في كتاب الصحابة له في سفرين وهو كتاب حسن، حفيل؛ وكتاب آخر أيضا في أوهام كتاب الصحابة المذكور، وأصلح أيضا أوهام المعجم لابن نافع في جزءٍ. كتب إلينا بإجازة ما جمعه ورواه وعني به. وتوفي ﵀ في سنة عشرين وخمس مائة. وقيل لي في سنة تسع عشرة قبلها، وصلى عليه أبو محمد بن أبي عرجون قاضي مرسية.
